These are the steps required to set up The Bat to send and receive messages through Hotmail using Webmail Retriever for Hotmail.

In summary you should set up an account as usual except that your server is "LocalHost" and you must ensure that the POP and SMTP ports match the Receiving and Sending ports in Webmail Retriever for Hotmail.

Step 1
Choose Accounts > New...

Step 2
Choose a name for your new account.

Click Next.

Step 3
Enter your name, Email Address and Organization.

Click Next.

Step 4
Select POP3 for the protocol.

Enter "LocalHost" as both your Incoming and outgoing server.

Check "My SMTP server requires..." option.

Click Next.

Step 5
Enter your User name followed by your Hotmail password:

For example: If your address is JDoe@Hotmail.com then you should enter JDoe as your account name.
If your address is Great_Guy625@Hotmail.com then your account name would be Great_Guy625

Click Next.

Step 6

Choose "Yes"

Click Finish.

Step 7

Make sure that the SMTP and POP3 ports on the properties tab match the Sending and Receiving ports in Webmail Retriever for Hotmail.

Click Next.
