These are the steps required to set up Eudora to send and receive messages through Hotmail accounts using Webmail Retriever for Hotmail.

In summary you should set up an account as usual except that your server is "LocalHost" and you must ensure that the POP and SMTP ports match the Receiving and Sending ports in Webmail Retriever for Hotmail.

Step 1
Choose Tools > Personalities...

Step 2
Right click your mouse on the Personalities window and choose New...

Step 3
Choose "Skip directly to advanced account setup"

Click Finish.

Step 4
Enter a personality name.

Enter your real name.
Enter your Hotmail address.
Enter a return address.

Enter "LocalHost" (no spaces) as your SMTP server.

For example: If your address is JDoe@Hotmail.com then you should enter JDoe as your login name.
If your address is Great_Guy625@Hotmail.com then your login name would be Great_Guy625

Click on the "Incoming Mail" tab.

Step 5
Enter "LocalHost" (no spaces) as your server.
Choose POP as the Configuration.

Click Next.

Step 6
Ensure that the POP and SMTP ports match the Receiving and Sending ports in Webmail Retriever for Hotmail.

Unfortunately, Eudora does not have a nice way to change it's ports.
Ideally you will use port 110 on the Receiving tab and port 25 on the Sending tab.

If for some reason you cannot use these ports you will have to add a line to the Eudora.ini file.
This file can be opened in any text editor.

To change the ports open Eudora.ini file which you will find in the Eudora install directory
(default: C:\Program Files\Eudora\Eudora.ini)

Look for a line that says "PopServer=LocalHost" and add a line immediately following it that says:"POPPort=xxx" where xxx is the port found on the Receiving tab of Webmail Retriever for Hotmail.
Next, look for a line that says "SMTPServer=LocalHost" and add a line immediately following it that says:"SMTPPort=xxx" where xxx is the port found on the Sending tab of Webmail Retriever for Hotmail.
