This tab contains controls
to modify the way Webmail Retriever for Hotmail retrieves mail from Hotmail.
Mark downloaded mail as read in your Hotmail account.
If this option is checked then
every time you download a message from Hotmail the message will be marked
as read.
This means that if you log on to Hotmail using a web browser (e.g. Netscape/Internet
Explorer) the message will appear as if you had read it normally.
This will not delete the message, it will just mark it as having been
read.
Only download unread mail.
If this option is checked,
then only mail that has not been marked as read will be downloaded.
This means that if you log on to Hotmail using a web browser (e.g. Netscape/Internet
Explorer) and read a message Webmail Retriever for Hotmail will not download
it into your Inbox.
Listen on port:
In order for Webmail Retriever
for Hotmail to act as a server, it must open a port for your email program
to connect to.
This box allows you to change what port Webmail Retriever for Hotmail
will listen to.
The default value is port 110. Unless this port conflicts with another
port it is recommended that you leave it at 110.
When Webmail Retriever for
Hotmail starts up for the first time it will search for an open port starting
with port 110.
After that, each time you open Webmail Retriever for Hotmail it will try
to reopen the last port it was told to use.
If for any reason it cannot open the requested port it will warn you.
If you have ZoneAlarm or some other personal firewall installed you must
allow Webmail Retriever for Hotmail to act as a server by granting it
access to port 110
Do not accept connections from other computers.
If this option is checked then
Webmail Retriever for Hotmail will not accept connections from any computer
but your own.
Normally there is no need for anyone else to use your copy of Webmail
Retriever for Hotmail to access Hotmail. It is therefor recommended that
you leave this option checked.
Retrieve
mail from Junk Mail folder.
If this option is checked then
Webmail Retriever for Hotmail will retreive mail from Hotmail's junkmail
folder.
This is the folder where Hotmail
puts mail that it thinks is spam.
Note: If you do not see this option in Webmail Retriever for Hotmail you
should upgrade to the latest version here.
