The Spam Tab controls how
Top Dog deals with spam.
Spam Probability Threshold.
This slider determines how
sensitive Top Dog is to spam.
Each time Top Dog processes an email it assigns a spam probability to
that email.
Use this slider determine the level of spam probability that an email
has to have before it is treated as spam.
Sliding the level to the left
decreases the chance of Top Dog misidentifying the email as spam
but increases the chance that some spam might make it into your
inbox.
Sliding the level to the right increases the chance of Top Dog
misidentifying the email as spam but decreases the chance of spam
making it into your inbox.
Action to Take.
This option allows you to choose
what you would like Top Dog to do when it discovers a spam email.
- Modify subject line.
If you choose this option Top Dog will modify the subject line of the
email by adding the text of your choice to the subject line.
This makes it easy to scan your inbox for email that Top Dog has determined
to be spam.
Alternatively, you can then use the rules in your email reader to sort
the spam email into a special folder.
- Send e-mail to the Doghouse
(quarantine)
This is the recommended action.
If this option is chosen then Top Dog will send all email it considers
to be spam to the Doghouse.
From the Doghouse you can sort email by spam probability, safely preview
them, categorize them and either delete them or release them into your
inbox.
- Delete the e-mail completely
Choose this option to have Top Dog permanently delete any email it determines
to be spam.
This option should be used only if you really trust Top Dog not to make
any mistakes.
The safer option is to send email to the Doghouse. This way you can
double check that email detected as spam is actually spam.
