Tab controls how Spam Hound deals with spam.</font></b></p> <p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><br> <b><a name="LiteSpamThresholdTrackBar"></a>Spam Probability Threshold.</b></font></p> <p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">This slider determines how sensitive Spam Hound is to spam.<br> Each time Spam Hound processes an email it assigns a spam probability to that email.<br> Use this slider determine the level of spam probability that an email has to have before it is treated as spam.</font></p> <p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Sliding the level to the left <i>decreases</i> the chance of Spam Hound misidentifying the email as spam but <i>increases</i> the chance that some spam might make it into your inbox.<br> Sliding the level to the right <i>increases</i> the chance of Spam Hound misidentifying the email as spam but <i>decreases</i> the chance of spam making it into your inbox.<br> <br> <br> <a name="LiteSpamActionComboBox"></a><b>Action to Take.</b></font></p> <p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">This option allows you to choose what you would like Spam Hound to do when it discovers a spam email.</font></p> <ul> <li><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Modify subject line.<br> If you choose this option Spam Hound will modify the subject line of the email by adding the text of your choice to the subject line.<br> This makes it easy to scan your inbox for email that Spam Hound has determined to be spam.<br> Alternatively,you can then use the rules in your email reader to sort the spam email into a special folder. <br> <br> </font></li> <li><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Send e-mail to the Doghouse (quarantine)<br> This is the recommended action.<br> If this option is chosen then Spam Hound will send all email it considers to be spam to the <a href="../StatusTabFrame.htm" target="_self">Doghouse</a>.<br> From the Doghouse you can sort email by spam probability, safely preview them, categorize them and either delete them or release them into your inbox.<br> <br> </font></li> <li><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Delete the e-mail completely <br> Choose this option to have Spam Hound permanently delete any email it determines to be spam.<br> This option should be used only if you really trust Spam Hound not to make any mistakes.<br> The safer option is to send email to the Doghouse. This way you can double check that email detected as spam is actually spam.</font><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> </font></li> </ul> <p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b><br> Mailing Lists and Bulk Mail.</b></font></p> <p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Check this option if you are not interested in receiving any bulk mail.<br> Bulk mail is mail that is sent to more than one person and is much easier to detect than spam.<br> Most people want some bulk email. An example of desired bulk email is an email distribution list that you have joined up for.<br> Spam Hound has many ways of detecting bulk email if you are not interested in receiving any bulk email than Spam Hound can very effectively screen out any email that was not intended for you alone.
