These are the steps required to set up Netscape 6x to send and receive messages through Hotmail accounts using HotApoc.

In summary you should set up an account as usual except that your server is "LocalHost".

Important: Netscape 6x does not allow you to change your SMTP port. This means that to use HotApoc port 25 for SMTP within HotApoc.
By default HotApoc chooses port 25 when you install, it will only choose different ports if port 25 is not available.


Step 1
Choose Tasks > Mail...

 


Step 2
Click on "Create a new account"

 


Step 3

Select ISP or e-mail provider (default).

Click "Next".



Step 4

Enter your name and e-mail address.

Click "Next".



Step 5

Enter "LocalHost" as your server name.

Click "Next".



Step 6

Enter your user name:
For example: If your address is JDoe@Hotmail.com then you should enter "JDoe" as your user name.
If your address is Great_Guy625@Hotmail.com then your user name would be "Great_Guy625"

Click "Next".



Step 7

Click "Next".



Step 8

Click on "Server Settings" and make sure the POP port matches the Receiving port in HotApoc (pictured below).
