These are the steps required to set up Netscape 4x to send and receive messages through Hotmail accounts using HotApoc.

In summary you should set up an account as usual except that your server is "LocalHost" and you need to double check that the ports used match those in HotApoc.
Use Host:Port format for server name if you are not using the default ports.

Step 1
Choose Edit > Preferences...

Step 2
Choose "Mail Servers"

Enter LocalHost (no spaces) as your Outgoing mail (SMTP) server.

If HotApoc is not listening on the default port of 25 then you should add a colin and the port to the end of "LocalHost".
e.g. "LocalHost:26" if the POP port was 26.

Enter your user name:
For example: If your address is JDoe@Hotmail.com then you should enter "JDoe" as your user name.
If your address is Great_Guy625@Hotmail.com then your user name would be "Great_Guy625"

Then click the "Add" button in the top right corner.

Step 3

Enter "LocalHost" (no spaces) as your server name.

Select POP3 Server as the server type.

This must be the same name as you entered in step 2.

If HotApoc is not listening on the default port of 110 then you should add a colin and the port to the end of "LocalHost".
e.g. "LocalHost:111" if the POP port was 111.

Click OK.
