These are the steps required to set up Outlook Express to send and receive messages through Hotmail using HotApoc.

In summary you should set up an account as usual except that your server is "LocalHost" and you must ensure that the POP and SMTP ports match the Receiving and Sending ports in HotApoc.


Step 1
Choose Tools > Accounts...

 


Step 2
Choose Add > Mail...

 


Step 3
Enter your name.

Click Next.



Step 4
Enter you e-mail address.

Click Next.

 


Step 5
Choose POP3 as your server type and enter "LocalHost" (no spaces) as your server name.

Click Next.



Step 6

Enter your User name followed by your Hotmail password:

For example: If your address is JDoe@Hotmail.com then you should enter JDoe as your account name.
If your address is Great_Guy625@Hotmail.com then your account name would be Great_Guy625

Click Next.



Step 7

Select the account you just created and click the "Properties" button.



Step 8
Make sure that the SMTP and POP3 ports on the Advanced tab match the Sending and Receiving ports in HotApoc.

Click Next.


 


Summary:
Below is what your account properties should look like when you are finished with the wizard if your name was John Doe and your e-mail address was JDoe@Hotmail.com
